"On my photographic journey, I made a conscious decision more than 30 years ago that I would stay on top of technology and constantly explore how new technology allows me to see and photograph differently. For the best part of those 30 years, the progress in this regard was rather sluggish, to say the least! Then, during the COVID-19 pandemic, with its restrictions on travel, I stumbled onto the Olympus/OM Systems brand, and everything changed overnight.

What OM Systems has done for photography in general and Mirrorless Photography specifically is something quite spectacular. In my mind, they democratised photography by not only making top-drawer Mirrorless Photography accessible to consumers at a price point that no other brand comes close to but also by making innovative technology accessible to all skill levels of photographers and placing them as equals on the playing field of nature photography.

When I look around me, though, virtually none of this potential has filtered through to the photographic public. By introducing dedicated OM workshops, Mentorship Support Programs, and Online Courses in the near future, I will work hard to become the so-called “Butterfly” that will work up the proverbial tornado.
